Hand-Cutting Film
Hand-cut films are used to create clean and sharp stencils. Northwest offers two basic types of hand-cut films: solvent-adhered films for resistance to water-based inks and water-soluble films for use with solvent-based inks. The structure of all hand-cut film consists of a coated film on a plastic support sheet. Support sheets are available in either of two thicknesses: .003 or .005. .005 films are recommended for beginners, because thicker film is easier to cut and mistakes are more easily repaired.

SOLVENT-ADHERED
Sta-sharp films are solvent-adhered for use with water-based inks and mild solvent based inks. The cutting surface of these films is very smooth for fast cutting and peeling time. They are dimensionally stable and durable for long lasting trouble-free screens. Extra-transparent films lie absolutely flat so they are easy to work with. They adhere fast and have excellent stick-back qualities for easy corrections.

WATER-ADHERED
Resistant to most solvent-based inks, these films adhere with water to all fabrics. The emulsion layer is formulated to retain edge sharpness and to resist bleeding. A special adhesive layer provides easy peeling and removal of the backing sheet after drying. They are easy to cut and stick-back for corrections.
