Kolorcure Activator 3 & 7 are sensitizers to be used to enhance cure rates of Kolorcure inks and coatings. They serve as photoiniators (light activated catalyst). While Kolorcure screen inks and coatings are supplied "ready to use" there are certain conditions (i.e. faster line speeds, thicker ink deposits) when the addition of these activators will be desired.
Kolorcure KC-8206 Activator #3 is used in white ink, clear coatings, and other non-yellowing applications. Note - Addition of activator sensitizer may reduce the life of the product.
CURE SPEED ENHANCEMENT: Consult the specific Kolorcure ink or clear coat data sheets. Typically, 2 to 4 % by weight of Kolorcure Sensitizer is added to the clear coating, and 4 to 8 % to ink when required.
STORAGE AND HANDLING: Kolorcure photopolymers should be stored in a cool, dry area; 80° F (27° C) or below is recommended. Under proper storage conditions, shelf life is a minimum of one year from date of manufacture.
Kolorcure Sensitizer is sensitive to sunlight and indirect white light. It should be used in an area having fluorescent "safe lights."
WARNING: 20% The use of goggles, gloves, and protective clothing is recommended. Avoid prolonged breathing of vapors. Contact of liquid material with the skin may be irritating; wash exposed area thoroughly with soap and water. Contact of liquid with the eyes may cause injury - effects may be delayed; flush eyes with large amounts of water for 15 minutes and call a physician. Do not take internally; if ingested, induce vomiting and call a physician. Like most polymers, the properly-cured resins are considered to be largely inert.
